The effectiveness of acupressure therapy on anxiety: a scoping review protocol

<p><strong>Background</strong>: Anxiety disorders are highly prevalent and considered the most common psychiatric condition globally. Acupressure is a non-invasive alternative to acupuncture has demonstrated effectiveness in managing psychosomatic disorders. However, due high disparities within existing clinical research, it difficult recommend optimum acupressure practice for anxiety management. This manuscript details protocol scoping available evidence, mapping key concepts, identifying gaps future research.</p><p><strong>Methods</strong>: designed following preferred reporting items systemic reviews meta-analyses extension (PRISMA-ScR) Joanna Briggs institute (JBI) manual evidence synthesis guidelines. Six electronic databases (MEDLINE, CINAHL, AMED, PsycINFO, dentistry oral science source, Scopus) two other search engines (Google Google Scholar) will be searched all relevant primary secondary studies, grey literature, sources concerning type of interventions on anxiety. The retrieved independently assessed by reviewers utilising eligibility criteria defined population concept context (PCC) framework. A PRISMA-ScR flowchart applied track number identified, included, excluded sources. Extracted data variables presented extraction table. Narrative explanations accompany synthesised results.</p><p><strong>Conclusions:</strong> review’s findings can assist priorities research provide recommendations optimal protocols implementation.</p>
